On top of being a wife and full-contact parent to three young children, I am an advocate for livable communities and alternative transportation. That means working for communities that work for every member of the community, including those who are either unable or unwilling to drive. It's all about making our communities stronger.

Thanks! No, I think that the bird is some sort of crane. Cranes appear in a lot of Japanese art; I think that they're supposed to be good luck.
Geishas are traditional Japanese entertainers, skilled in the arts of music, dance, and conversation. Their numbers have declined significantly in recent years, and the Gion district in Kyoto is one of the few areas where you're likely to see them out and about.
